Jim Shepard

Shareholder

Mr. Shepard is the Managing Shareholder of the Litigation Department, as well as Managing Attorney of the firm. He concentrates his practice in all areas of civil litigation including business litigation, contract litigation, real estate litigation, municipal court litigation and personal injury and matrimonial matters. In addition, to arguing before the Supreme Court of New Jersey, Mr. Shepard appears before and in New Jersey Superior Court (Chancery and Law Divisions), New Jersey Superior Court (Appellate Division) as well as Federal Court.

Mr. Shepard is also active in our Real Estate Department and acts as Supervising Attorney of our Commercial Real Estate Practice Area.  He provides legal representation in all areas of real estate inclusive of purchase, sale, refinance, mortgage closing and leases. Mr. Shepard also provides legal representation in commercial transactions including transactions with significant financial implications. For example, he has acted as real estate counsel for a borrower in connection with a multi-million dollar assisted living project financed by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.

He is an active member of the community, serving as a Municipal Court Judge for Parsippany-Troy Hills during 1995. Mr. Shepard has also been an adjunct faculty member of Morris County College lecturing in the area of Business Law, and is currently a member of the Boonton Township Planing Board / Board of Adjustment

Mr. Shepard was Law Secretary to Honorable Paul Bangiola, Superior Court from 1983 to 1984. During law school he was the recipient of The American Jurisprudence Prize for Wills. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America as well as the Morris County, New Jersey State and American Bar Associations.
