Bankruptcy

Bankruptcy Practice Area

We draw on our extensive experience before federal and state courts situated in both New Jersey and New York to enforce Creditors' Rights against bankrupt debtors.  Our clients include both institutions and businesses.  We pride ourselves on being one of the strongest creditors' rights firms in both New Jersey and New York. We are one of only three firms selected by Freddie Mac to handle its bankruptcy matters in New Jersey, as well as one of only three firms selected by Freddie Mac to handle its bankruptcy matters in New York.  We are also extremely proud to have been selected to the Fannie Mae Attorney Retention Network for both states, making Fein Such the only firm designated by Freddie Mac and retained by Fannie Mae, in both New Jersey and New York.

We are able to effectively and efficiently service clients in Upstate and Downstate New York through our New York partnership, Fein, Such & Crane, LLP.  Our familiarity with court personnel and procedures in the various Bankruptcy courts of both jurisdictions has made us a top rated bankruptcy department.  A debtor who has declared bankruptcy is attempting to discharge or reorganize its debts.  When an automatic stay is invoked, a creditor must cease all collection proceedings.

Our active caseload consists of over 1600 files in both New Jersey and New York.  Due to our constant presence in Bankruptcy Court we not only implement but shape bankruptcy laws.  Through the size of our practice and our harnessing of new technologies, we have developed efficiencies that we pass along to our clients in terms of time and cost savings.

In our Library, you will find articles, FAQ's and cases that will provide you, the creditor of a bankrupt person, with additional information about what you can expect from the bankruptcy proceeding.

If we can be of assistance to you in protecting your position as a creditor in light of a bankruptcy, please contact Alan F. Such, Managing Shareholder of our Bankruptcy practice area.
