When it comes to selecting an attorney, your choices are far from scarce. Hiring the right legal counsel can mean the difference between a successful and an unsuccessful outcome, so proper research is vital. The experience and diversity of our attorneys collectively enable our Litigation Department to handle virtually every type of business or personal dispute, from simple cases to complex commercial trials, and everything in between.
In order to best represent our client’s legal rights, we engage in what we refer to as “preventative lawyering”. Oftentimes, litigation is not the best mechanism for resolving a dispute because winning a judgment is meaningless if you’ve spent more money on litigation than what the judgment is worth. We take pride in our ability to master the facts and applicable law, analyze the “big picture” and move forward in a manner that is conducive to our client’s best interests. Where appropriate, our clients benefit from our experience in alternative dispute resolution methods, such as mediation and arbitration, which are often much quicker and less costly than traditional courtroom litigation.
Sometimes, however, disputes cannot be resolved amicably and the only solution is litigation. Not all attorneys are qualified to go to trial; therefore, when you consider hiring a law firm to handle your case, you need to know at the onset whether that lawyer can handle your case from start to finish and will actually conduct the trial of your case if that is required. Two of our litigation attorneys are certified by the Supreme Court of the State of New Jersey as Certified Civil Trial Attorneys, a distinction bestowed on less than 3% of attorneys in New Jersey.* Our attorneys are fully equipped to take your matter to trial if we feel your rights are being violated.
Every day, court cases are won or lost based on the skill and experience of the attorneys involved. Whether we handle your case by means of mediation, arbitration or trial, we provide our clients with solid representation and advocacy to pursue the remedies or rights to which they are entitled.
*The Board on Attorney Certification is directed to assess an attorney’s qualifications for certification in an effort to give clarity to consumers seeking competent attorneys in New Jersey. The Civil Trial Attorney Certification is an honor designed to protect consumers from false advertising and raise the bar for considerations of what it means to be a competent and reputable attorney.
